opportunities to the students. This course aim to create industry
leaders, quality field personnel and international level consultants in
the field of oil & gas business. Placement will also be considered for
outstanding candidate in the proposed mega gas development business. It
is likely to absorb 100 people on share holder/partnership basis
On Job Training
 With the help of
sponsors, POGL has conducted training programme in different sites. All
the Training & Research works of the institute run under the expert
guidance of experienced professionals. Each student of the three
different courses is required to undergo a practical training (PT) in a
factory, laboratory, work-site or organization as may be approved by
the supervisor of the Institute. The training may be taken after the
end of each semester. After the training, a student is required to
submit a written report to the Institute for evaluation and approval. A
Pass (P) or a No Pass (NP) grade without credit is attached to this
essential requirement of the relevant degree.
This training course
aims to provide exposure to some of the modern experimental tools
related to oil & gas to the students of all the three courses. Expert
faculty from oil & gas field will be involved in conducting this
training so as to cover various disciplines in oil & gas technology.
The participants will be interacting with experts in their fields and
will get acquainted with practical aspects of various modern techniques
related to oil & gas. Experiments will be conducted in small groups
under the expert supervision. A few demonstration experiments will also
be conducted. A few lectures related to practical will also be
delivered. Some of the specific experiments and techniques may be
conducted by the scientists and professors in their respective
laboratories also. The Institute will facilitate students for carrying
out their research and training programs in the following mentioned
areas.

Proposed Practical
Training Organisations: Initially training programme will cover all the
aspects of upstream sector of OIL & GAS industry. The upstream sector
will be EXPLORATION, DRILLING, PRODUCTION and TRANSPORTATION. In future
downstream sector training will be in REFINERIES, PETROCHEMICALS, GAS
CRACKER etc. Besides the oil and gas field training, RRL(Jorhat) and
Dibrugarh University has consented to offer the training facilities. |
At the end of this
course a certificate for their participation and successful completion
of this training will be issued by the institute |
